Myelofibrosis is a rare type of bone marrow disorder that disrupts the normal production of blood cells, leading to severe scarring in the bone marrow. This condition falls under a group of diseases known as myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). It can develop on its own (primary myelofibrosis) or as a result of other bone marrow conditions (secondary myelofibrosis).
